| Amarnath land issue can turn into 'second Ayodhya': Togadia | | | Varanasi | Aug 10
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday warned that the Amarnath issue might turn into a "second Ayodhya" if demands of the protestors in Jammu region were not met. VHP leader Praveen Togadia said that the 100 acres of land and the management of the yatra should be handed over to the Amarnath shrine board. "If this does not happen immediately, the movement (launched by the Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti) will not halt" and "ultimately the Amarnath issue will practically turn into a second Ayodhya", he said. He said as a first step, the VHP would hold an all India road blockade on August 13 in support of the agitation. The VHP leader took exception over the use of the Army in Jammu region to deal with the stir. Togadia also demanded the recall of the Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra. |
