| JURSEA threatens boycott of I-Day function | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 10
Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association (JURSEA) today threatened to boycott the Independence Day functions organized by the state government if land is not returned to SASB till August 14. It however maintained that they would celebrate themselves the Independence Day. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, President JURSEA, Vikas Sharma lambasted on the state government for its attitude towards the Jammuities’ demand and warned to boycott the state organized functions on Independence Day if the government failed to restore the land transferred to SASB but maintained that they would celebrate the day of their own. "Since last more than fourty days , the University of Jammu remains closed and will remain till the government restore the land allotment to SASB", he said adding that the support of JURSEA will continue to Sangarsh Samati fighting for the cause. He also criticized the provocative statements of Kashmir based leadership and rejected the reports on economic blockade of valley maintaining that no one from Jammu has called for the economic blockade to valley. He further warned separatist and mainstream leaders of valley to desist from making false statements that Muslim's of Jammu have been frighten because of the ongoing agitation and maintained that Muslims were supporting this cause without any fear. While criticizing the state government for its attitude towards the Jammuities, he said that state administration has imposed unnecessary various restrictions on the people who were peacefully protesting for the cancellation of land granted to Shrine Board. Dharampal and Arif was also present during the conference. |
