Local businessmen connected with tourism and pilgrimage in Jammu contented that the composite delegation appointed by the prime minister, which include Farooq Abdullah, Saif-Ud-din-Soz and Mehbooba Mufti, was meant to further hurt the sentiments of the Jammu people, who are protesting against the volatile situation created by these leaders and support extended by them to the secessionists and Islamic fundamentalists in Kashmir.
They said Jammu agitation going for the last 42 days is against the anti Jammu and anti nationalist policy of these leaders. Their presence in the delegation, claimed to be aimed at assuaging the hurt feeling of Jammuites, was like showing a red rag to the bull. The culprits of the present situation cannot sit on judgment or as mediators over the issue.
The meeting which was attended by Indeerjeet Khajuria, President All Jammu Hotels and Lodges association, Kuldeep Wahi, President Jammu Pratyan Vikas Mandal, Mahesh Padha, President Jammu Trade Employees Federation, Ashwani Sharma, President Shopkeepers association Bus Stand Jammu, Vikramjeet Singh Below Gumat Hotlier Association, Pawan Gupta, President Hari Market Traders Welfare Association, Baldev Khullar, President Raghunath Bazar Traders Union also hailed the decision of the Sangarsh Samiti to continue the present agitation till the land in question is not restored to the SASB and the present governor N.N. Vohra is not recalled by the centre and some other comtempt person appointed as governor in his place.
Refuting that the present Jammu agitation is communal, the trade leaders said that Kashmiri separatists and the religious fundamentalists have let loose a wrong propaganda in this regard. Despite their all provocative statements the people of Jammu have maintained utmost communal harmony and brotherhood, with Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs who are equally supporting the agitation.
