| DDC Rajouri chief guest swapped the problems | | |

District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET) Rajouri organized a seminar on the topic “Improving the Education Standard” here today in the premises of education and technology centre of DIET Rajouri in which DDC Rajouri Pervez Malik was the chief guest on the occasion .Almost all the principals of 32 Higher secondary schools and Zonal Education Officers of the district Rajouri participated in the ensuing seminar .Different Topics relating to improvement of education standard were allotted to the speakers well in advance ,but it was observed here today that almost all the speakers were derailed on approaching the dice in the seminar , and deviated towards demands and the problems they are facing in smooth running of their educational institutions .Mr R.K.Mani Principal HSS Sunderbani while speaking on the topic highlighted causes of falling results in government schools and their remedial measures ,he elaborated various point including the poor infrastructure ,inadequate accommodation ,ill equipped labs ,deficiency of staff members that is large number of posts in different cadres are laying vacant for years together , appointments of contractual lectures as they are not accountable .He further said that according to the Kothari Commision recommendation the teacher and tot ratio in no case be 1:60 where as the ground reality is that in some of the institutions it exceeds 1:160 .
Arif Iqbal Principal while high lighting demands appealed to CEO present on the occasion to provide contractual lecturers for conducting the higher classes in HSS Panihad .Another principal highlighted that there are inadequate working days and the syllabi is too long which can not be covered in the available days in one current session while maximum working days are wasted in the form of summer vocations ,winter vocations , Pooja holidays , Sundays , national festivals condolence meting days ,birth and death days of respected leaders and other dignitaries .In the meanwhile the remedial measure suggested by the participants came out either to cut short the syllabi or remove the holidays .While speaking on the occasion Chief Education Officer Rajouri N.A.Qazi said that stoppage of periodic increment for want of low pass percentage was taken by the Government under political pressure he agreed .
While speaking on the occasion chief guest DDC Rajouri Pervez Malik held the government school teachers responsible for the degrading education standard .Further more reacting to the problems raised by the education officers he resolved most of the problem on the spot very intelligently as if he was the head of the education department in addition to district head admitted participants .
Finally Principal DIET Rajouri R.K. Sharma presented vote of thanks to the chief guest . |
