Bhim Singh ends fast

The indefinite fast launched by Prof. Bhim Singh on August 4 ended today after he was offered a glass of juice by Prof. Amitabh Mattoo Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu and Sudanshu Panday Divisional Commissioner Jammu who visited the site of hunger strike in front of JKNPP office here.
Bhim Singh was persuaded by the Panthers Party to end his indefinite hunger strike in view of repeated appeals made to him by national land intellectuals including Prime Minister and also in view of the advice by team of doctors who had referred him for further treatment at Escorts Hospital New Delhi.
Harsh Dev Singh chief spokesman of the JKNPP who was present on the occasion said that Prof. Bhim Singh has been operated thrice for his heart ailment and the Panthers Party had been able to persuade him to seek advanced treatment in the light of advice given by the medical team. He said that Prof. Singh had always championed the cause of Jammuites and fought for the people of the region in all circumstances even if it involved risk to his own life and health. He said that his services were needed for a better future for Jammuites and hence it was necessary that he recouped at the earliest for leading the present agitation to a logical conclusion.
Amitabh Mattoo and Div Com, Jammu Sh. Sudanshu Panday wished a speedy recovery to Prof. Bhim Singh after offering him a glass of Juice. IGP Sh. K. Rajendran was also present on the occasion to wish Prof. Singh an early recovery.
In the meanwhile, the JKNPP decided to continue with the chain hunger strike in support of the movement for restoration of land to Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board. Those who sat on hunger strike today included Sh. Yashpal Kundal, Ex-Minister, Anita Thakur State General Secretary, Sh. Ashok Bhagat. Shri Sahil Ji Maharaj also joined them on hunger strike for this noble cause.
