| JSM demands Mehbooba’s arrest | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 11
Strongly criticizing and condemning PDP Chief Mufti Mehbooba for inciting the Kashmiris to march to Muzaffarabad and the subsequent loss of innocent lives, Jammu State Morcha (P) in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its president Prof. Virender Gupta has demanded action against the PDP chief and others so as to prevent them from trying to create a communal divide amongst the people of Jammu region. H.B. Khajuria, Dig Vijay Singh, Virander Magotra and Divender Singh Jamwal, Chandra Udey Sharma and Mahesh Sharma also attended the meeting. The meeting also strongly condemned the use of the Indian Army to suppress and crush the voice of the people of Jammu region. They were critical of assigning the role of performing “Policeman’ ties given to the Indian Army by this incompetent administration under the Governor N. N. Vohra. Instead of using CRPF, BSF and other forces an unprecedented 45 army columns have been deployed in Jammu region to crush the people’s mass movement for a just and genuine cause. Expressing their anguish and surprise over the announcements made by the Union Home Minister yesterday regarding grant of compensation to the fruit traders and orchardists in Kashmir Valley, the JSM leaders said that such like announcement was not made for those who suffered heavy losses in Jammu during the ongoing agitation. This treatment, they said, speaks itself how the Centre is appeasing the Kashmiris at the cost of Jammuties. Reiterating its appeal the JSM leaders have asked the people to carry on their agitation in a peaceful and Gandhian manner and avoid damages to the public and the private property besides maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood at any cost. They also cautioned the people to be watchful of the sinister designs of the Government and those Kashmiri leaders who are out to communalize the situation and thus create a wedge between the communities and break this agitation. |
