| Hockey J&K extends thanks to LG for installing Astroturf in Poonch | | |

JAMMU, Aug 2: Hockey J&K extended thanks to LG GC Murmu for his support to uplift the Hockey in J&K by laying foundation stone for AstroTurf Hockey Stadium at Poonch.
Hockey J&K also expressed its gratitude to Dr Salim ur Rehman Director General Youth Services and Sports for his sincere support in installing the Turf while it also thanked District Administration of Poonch which has worked day and night for installation of the Turf under the leadership of Rahul Yadav, District Development Commissioner Poonch.
Hockey J&K appreciate the role of local Hockey J&K District Poonch unit for their efforts for removing many hurdles came during the process of implementing the decision of J&K Government on ground. It is worth to mention here that Hockey J&K suggested in 2017 to Govt. of India as well as J&K Govt to install 5 Turfs at Baramulla, Srinagar, Poonch, Jammu ( Nagrota) and at Kathua in J&K UT initially to promote the Hockey game in J&K State. Govt of J&K has already accepted the demand of Hockey J&K to install 5 Turfs in J&K. Tender notices are already issued for some of them including replacement of 22 years old AstroTurf in KK Hakku Hockey Stadium Jammu. Hockey J&K appeal the J&K Govt to expedite the process for installing Turfs in the remaining districts of J&K UT. Hockey J&K further appealed Lt Governor J&K UT to replace the existing turf at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium, Jammu which has expired its age since many years. |
