BAJ asks administration to register criminal case against Mehbooba
Vows to fight decisive battle against discrimination

Bar Association Jammu today in its meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Adv BS Salathia has asked the administration to register criminal case and initiate prosecution against PDP President Mehbooba Mufti for her anti-national statements which has even been given in the National and International Media. In the meeting, the members did not appreciate the approach adopted by the Central Delegation headed by the Union Home Minister Shiv Raj patil ignoring the loss suffered by the Transporter, traders, Industrialists, fruit and vegetable growers of Jammu region and termed it as another act of discrimination at the hands of central Government with the people of Jammu region. The association has impressed upon the Centre to provide adequate compensation to the people of Jammu region on the same analogy as is being provided to the people of Kashmir.
The BAJ reiterated its stand for fighting decisive battle against discrimination at the hands of Kashmir-centric politicians and appealed to the people to maintain communal harmony and build a secular civil society by strengthening the secular forces and isolate the communal and fascist forces for peaceful co-existence of Jammu Samaj.
BAJ President appealed the people to out-rightly reject the rumours being spread by certain vested interests not to celebrate the Independence Day on the pretext that the people of Jammu region are involved in the ongoing agitation. BAJ further appealed all the Jammuties to celebrate the Independence Day with pomp and show and convey to the nation that what respect the people of Jammu region have for the National Flag and are even ready to shed their blood for the unity and integrity of the nation.
The members unanimously appealed to Sangarsh Samiti to constitute a Media Cell for proper press briefings, for effective projection of various developments taking place during the agitation in order to achieve the desired goal.
BAJ also constituted Legal Aid Committee for providing free legal service to the victims of ongoing agitation and has appealed the people at large to contact Helpline Numbers in case of any such eventuality.
