PDP axe to fall on beneficiaries of "land to the tillers": NC
Srinagar, September 7?KNS: National Conference Provincial President Dr Mehboob Baig here on Thursday came down heavily on PDP leadership for trying to depriver tillers of their rights given to them under the policy "land to the tiller", the architect of which is National Conference founder late Sheikh Mohd Abdullah. Saying that demand for restoration of special powers to the state under article 370 of Indian Constitution means the deprivation of the rights given to tiller under the policy 'land to the tiller" by late Sheikh Mohd Abdullah, Baig claimed that no agreement was signed between the state and the center from 1947 and 1953, but the when when agreements were implemented, most of the National Conference leaders were jailed and some of them were exiled under a deep rooted political conspiracy hatched against National Conference leadership in 1953.
Alleging that PDP president gives one description of self rule before Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, but claims the champion of an entirely different self rule while in Kashmir, Baig said that division of the state under self rule is the motive of PDP leadership and condemned it for pursuing the policy of double speak and double standards. Meanwhile Baig also visited flood hit Boat Colony Bemina, Khanabal Anantnag, Nathpora Batpora and Mominabad areas and urged the State Government for immediate relief among the victims.
