| Mehbooba wants special financial package for flood victims | | |
Srinagar, September 7: Seeking a massive financial package for flood victims from Central Government, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti said in a statement here on Thursday that 5 lakh people living in 500 villages have been badly affected by devastating floods, while as huge loss has been caused to farming community by floods which have washed away standing crops and apple orchards spread over thousands of kanalas.
The estimated loss, according to PDP President accumulates to around Rs400 crores. Impressing upon the State Government to take up measures for constructing new residential colony for flood victims of Anantnag ands Pulwama districts, Mehbooba sought free rations for the victims for next six months.
