Jammu | Aug 11

Despite huge losses being suffered by the traders and industrialists amidst all maneuver and persuasions by the state and central government and also the retaliatory action in Srinagar, the Jammu agitation is refusing to ebb till the aspirations of the people were not addressed.
This quite evident today when the authorities relaxed curfew for 14 hours to make way for the resumption of normal activity in the town, the traders did not turn up to open their shops. During the curfew relaxation which passed off peacefully, entire town wore a deserted look.
The authorities were under perception that relaxation in curfew after a long spell of siege may bring the life in town to normal but apparently the trading community and all other people stood by the decision of the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti. The Samiti, it may be mentioned here, has a shut down call August 14 and a decision on future course of action is likely to be taken the same day.
Curfew in Jammu, Samba and Udhampur districts was relaxed today while in Poonch, Rajouri and Kathua district it has been lifted.

He said 6 civilians were killed including 2 at Samba in police firing, 1 at Kathua in Army firing, 1 at Bhadarwah due to blast, 2 in Jammu including one due to fall and another by consuming poison. He said another person who consumed poison was saved due to timely hospitalization.
