| Defeat designs of anti-national forces: Cong | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 12
A meeting of district Congress Committee DCC- urban presided over by Om Chopra extended support to the people of Jammu in its crusade against the disinformation campaign launched by political leaders from Kashmir valley on the issue of the transfer of land to Shrine Board and economic blockade. Such leaders should restrain from giving inflammatory and irresponsible speech detrimental to peace and communal harmony in J&K state, Chopra said. DDC (U) also appealed to people of Jammu to maintain traditional amity, brotherhood and secularism, and be aware about such anti elements who are bent upon in derailing the ongoing agitation which is for the self-esteem and constitutional rights of Jammuites. Prominent among those present were Kirtan Singh, M.M Handa, B.S Mastana, Harjeet Singh, Suresh Bhagotra, V.K Sethi, Hussain Bhakash, Ram Malhotra, Subash sharma, B.B. Sharma, B.B. Gupta, Madan Lal, S. Jaswant Singh and Rajni Sharma. Mean while PCC general secretary Ravinder Sharma and former vice chairman of Pahari Advisory Board Shabir Ahmed Khan have also appealed to the people to maintain traditional harmony and religious brotherhood and defeat the designs of anti-national and anti-social forces. In a joint statement these leaders cautioned the people against those forces who want to take advantage of the situation and disturb the religious brotherhood and communal amity in the state. They said that such forces, knowingly or un- knowingly serve the designs of anti-national forces who are always on look out to exploit the situation. The Congress leaders expressed shock over the incidents of violence resulting in two casualties in Kishtwar and in Kashmir valley. The congress leaders also urged the govt to maintain supply of essential commodities of ration, kerosene oil, cooking gas etc in Rajouri-Poonch and other far flung areas of the state. |
