Khajuria seeks relief for fruit vegetable growers

Former Minister and Vice President PCC Yash Paul Khajuria has sought a relief compensation to the farmers for the losses of their vegetables and fruit in Udhampur district during the prolonged bandh and curfew in the region.
Khajuria who conducted conducted the tour of some parts of Udhampur district and held meetings at Tikri and Udhampur, was apprised by the people that farmers in various parts of the district like Block Panchari, Dudu-Basantgarh and Chenani are mainly dependent upon the vegetable and fruit productions, but due to prolonged bandhs and curfew they could not transport and market their vegetable and fruit and suffered huge losses. He urged the centre and the state government to asses their losses and provide them adequate compensation and relief. He also appealed to the people to defeat the designs of vested interests and maintain traditional harmony at all costs.
