| Don’t compare Amarnath land issue with Babri Masjid: Bhim to BJP | | ‘Accuses Centre of committing blunder after blunder’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 13
Regretting that some political parties are hell bent to politicize the noble cause relating to the diversion of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board at Baltal, chairman JKNPP Prof Bhim Singh, presently under treatment in Escorts Heart Institute New Delhi, has in a statement appealed to BJP leadership in the country not to treat Amarnath issue with Babri Masjid. Prof Singh said that the diversion of land to the board without changing the proprietary rights could not be projected to the people of the valley as a result the anger in the valley was because of misrepresentation of facts and an attempt to communalize the issued by PDP which was a party to the enactment. It was PDP which set fire to the freezing waters of river Jhelum with ulterior motive to exploit the innocent Kashmiris and provide a platform and agenda to BJP, an old entrusted allay of Mufti Mohammed Sayed, to damage the secular fabric in Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country. Describing it a fatal mistake on the part of the Ghulam Nabi Azad to revoke the land allotment order to the SASB without going to the people to explain the aims and objectives of the earlier order of May 20, Singh said that the former CM failed to understand the emotional surcharge both in the valley and in Jammu region. He also charged union government, particularly the Union Home Minister, and National Security Advisor for committing blunder by shifting the initiative to resolve the issue to New Delhi instead of leaving it for the Governor to take up the matter with the local religious leadership. Inviting the outdated, corrupt and undesirable leadership of NC, the Congress and the PDP for a dialogue by the Prime Minister was yet another grave mistake as these leaders were responsible for the present mess, he observed and said that ‘keeping Governor away from the so-called secret parlays with BJP and Sangarsh Samiti in Jammu, proved counterproductive. He also accused the so-called committee headed by Home Minister of not having invited the religious heads like Mufti-e-Azam of Kashmir and others who had a very useful role to play in regaining the confidence among the Kashmir. Similar was the case with the Jammu where Jammu based political parties and religious leaders were altogether ignored, he added. Prof Singh in his statement has hoped that the Prime Minister would consider the present situation in its right perspective lest BJP and Mufti endanger the unity and secular fabric in the country. |
