Lt. Gen Khanna inaugurates Nursing education program

Nursing education on ‘Trauma Care- Holistic Nursing Approach’ was inaugurated by Lt Gen Pradeep Khanna, Chief of Staff, Northern Command at the Command Hospital here,
In his inaugural address the General emphasized the need for a holistic approach in nursing and the vital role of a nurse as an instrument of healing with the awareness of transpersonal human caring. A souvenir of the conference was also released later to commemorate the occasion.
Maj Gen D Ganguly, Commandant, Command Hospital, who is also the patron of this program, said that this event would enable nursing officers to update their knowledge and skills in caring for our wounded soldiers. He stressed that a holistic approach in nursing is very much essential for the psychological and emotional recovery of patients along with the physical care provided to them. A hand book on the subject was also released by the Commandant.
This program will continue till Aug 20 in which a .large number of medical and nursing officers from various hospitals of Northern Command are attending.
