| BJP accuses PDP of unleashing a misleading campaign | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 13
The state BJP on Wednesday dismissed the PDP's allegation that there has been an economic blockade in the valley and accused its president Mehbooba Mufti and other leaders of mounting a misleading campaign. Refuting the allegation by the PDP president and other leaders State BJP president, Ashok Kathuria asked people of the valley to ignore any such claims and isolate people out to mislead them. Khajuria also dubbed as "white lie" the statements made by Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, J&K governor N N Vohra and state's home department that everything has been normal along the national highway from Lakhanpur to Srinagar. "It is a motivated propaganda launched by the communal elements in Kashmir", he said. Also dismissing allegations made by Kashmiri separatists that Muslims in Jammu division are in danger, the state BJP chief claimed that they are not only safe but also openly participating in the ongoing movement. Expressing grief over the loss of lives in Kishtwar and Kashmir, Khajuria held Kashmir-based separatist leaders and Mufti directly responsible for inciting people to take the law of the land in their own hands and march towards Muzaffarabad. He further alleged that the very call for Muzaffarabad chalo campaign, shows that these leaders could go to any extent to accomplish their dubious designs regardless of the consequences. Asking the authorities to do away with 'senseless brutalities', Khajuria asked them to release all those booked under false charges, lift the curfew and withdraw the army. Welcoming state congress leaders and activists for joining the present agitation, the BJP leader asked them to prove their allegiance to the cause by resigning from the party. |
