| Letter to Gandhi Ji | | | | We know you are pained, because of present situation in Jammu and Kashmir. You had described Jammu and Kashmir as an epitome of secularism and brotherhood among Hindus and Muslims. Your ray of hope now has been blurred but not vanished thoroughly. You were strong follower of your own religion but also respected every other religion. You have never taught us to hate anybody and have advised the masses not to indulge in any controversy of communal or religious politics. Then why my brothers and sisters are playing communal politics just for their vote banks. But the present scenario in seems to be worst ever in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. The state which is topographically divided in three regions and has people from different faiths always demonstrated highest values of secularism. Now, unfortunately a room has been created for communalism. During 90’s when militancy erupted in the state even that time people of the state fought it with brotherhood and wisdom. Undoubtedly the most of the militancy related incidents were related with the people of one particular community. But people of the state never blamed and blackmailed each other and never challenged the pious teachings of the Islam. See the present blame game spearheaded by the self acclaimed representatives of the state. Though their influence in the society is confined to only a few hundred people, but their statements and tone is sufficient to burn the whole Jammu and Kashmir. The day when people of this state reminded themselves your teachings we are sure our state will again be as beautiful as it was not in physical sense but because of the brotherhood and wisdom of the people. Dear father, we hope people of this state will understand the problem and wee the ray of hope which once you saw. |
