| Shia Federation condemns Kishtwar, Valley killings, demands relief | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 14
Shia Federation Jammu has demanded ex gratia relief to all those who lost their lives in police firing in Kishtwar and Kashmir during last one week and compensation for the damaged properties of Gujjars and Truck owners. In a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of its president Ashiq Hussian the Federation expressed sympathies with the families of all those killed in police firing in Kashmir and Kishtwar. The Federation in a resolution passed at the meeting also condemned police high handedness and stressed for maintaining communal harmony and age old brotherhood in both the regions. "We condemn the police action on innocent people in Kishtwar and Kashmir besides those killed in Samba and Kathua" president of the Federation Khan said, adding that the members of Gujjar community who suffered losses in Akhnoor and Samba should be given adequate compensation, besides providing tents. "It is very unfortunate that the police and security forces which are meant to safeguard the people are themselves killing them with out assigning any reason" he added. The members of the Federation have appealed general masses to maintain peace and harmony at all costs as the state of Jammu and Kashmir has always defeated communal elements and their nefarious designs. The Federation also demanded probe into the circumstances which led to police firing at all these places. |
