Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sudhanshu Pandey and Inspector General of Police, K. Rajindera Kumar have extended their best wishes to the people of the State on the eve of 62nd Independence Day. In their separate messages they said “the Day reminds us to pay rich tributes to our great freedom fighters who sacrificed their present for the sake of our future. It also reminds us to have introspection on the success and achievement we have registered and to set new goals to steer the country to the peak of self-sufficiency and prosperity”. Meanwhile, the IGP said that there were some inputs that some anti-national elements could indulge in subversive activities. He said that a security alert has been sounded and police have been put on high alert to track anti-national elements. Rajindera appealed the people to cooperate the security agencies who have launched checking and frisking operation to thwart the evil designs of terrorists. He also asked the people to keep strict vigil in and around and immediately report to the police if they observe any suspicious movement or abandoned article in their vicinity. |
