BJP National General Secretary (Organization) Ram Lal accompanied by the state President Ashok Khajuria today visited Hiranagar to pay floral tributes to Dr. Balwant Raj Khajuria who laid down his life for forcing the state government to hand over land at Baltal to the SASB.
Paying tributes to Martyr Khajuria, the BJP leaders said that the supreme sacrifice made by Dr. Khajuria and eight others in the past 45 days shall not go waste and that there is no doubt that the Sangarsh Samiti, which has been spearheading the land restoration movement, will not only succeed in getting back the land in question but would also succeed in ensuring the expulsion of Governor Vohra, who at the behest of Congress led UPA Government, succumbed before the fundamentalists, thus hurting the nationalist and secular psyche of the people of Jammu.
Saluting the people of Jammu for their exemplary courage and determination, the BJP leaders assured the members of the bereaved family that the entire nation is behind them in this hour of grief and sorrow.
Commenting on the migration of around 50 Hindu families from Azad’s home town in Gandoh and Bhalesa area and burning down of two temples there, Ashok Khajuria held ‘the authorities responsible for what is being done in the mountainous region by the fanatics to cleanse the area of the minority Hindu and destroy the symbols of Indian civilization and Hindu religion’. He claimed that the Hindus of these areas, who have been forced to flee, are now camping in the nearby Hindu majority areas and asked the authorities to crush the fanatics in these areas with iron hand so that these Hindus could go back to their homes and hearths.
Denouncing the civil administration in Kishtwar for not lifting curfew and allowing the people to celebrate Independence Day, Khajuria regretted that it was pity that the Independence Day was celebrated within the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s office adding that it appears that the administration has been taken area by the militants.
Expressing grave concern over the developments in Kashmir as also the outrageous decision of the authorities to send back to Jammu the Hindu employees for security reasons, the BJP Chief said this shows the extent to which a section of Kashmiris has become intolerant towards the non-Muslims. He described this decision as part of the state policy designed to rid Kashmir of all the minorities.
Khajuria further said that Jammu has been witnessing a massive movement since June 30 but there has not been a single incident which one can cite to prove that the Kashmiri Muslims are unsafe in Jammu province and the fact is that a single Kashmiri Muslim has gone back to the valley during these 46 days. This fact gives credence that the ongoing movement in Jammu is not only secular but also completely peaceful, he asserted. He asked the authorities to give up their biased approach and abandon their pro-militant and pro-fundamentalist policies and launch a full scale campaign to eliminate the separatists and communal forces in Kashmir.
