| MUF expresses anguish over brutal killings in valley | | ‘Frustrate designs of anti-national elements’, Front appeals people | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 15
Expressing deep anguish over the brutal killings of the peaceful and innocent Kashmiri brethren, the executive members of the Muslim Front Jammu has lauded the efforts of the Jammu civil society in maintaining age old traditions of communal harmony and universal brotherhood. The Front in a meeting of the executive members held today to review the overall security situation prevailing in the state has appealed the people to frustrate the designs of anti-national elements who were hell bent to divide the people on religious lines and create communal disturbances in the state. The meeting also impressed upon the state administration to observe utmost restraint in dealing with the volatile and explosive situation prevailing in both the regions of the state. The members demanded adequate compensation to all those families who lost their dears ones in the police firing in Jammu and Kashmir, besides providing exgratia relief to the members of Gujjar community, who suffered losses in clashes in Jammu region. Those took part in the meeting includes Chowdhary Abdul Hamid President, Abdul Gani Malik Vice President, Chowdry Bashir Ahmad and Hussain Ali Vice presidents, Ashiq Hussian Khan General secretary, Chowdhary Noor Alam, Suhail Kazmi and Farooq Chowdhary. Prof. Zahoor-ud-Din chief patron also participated in the meeting. The meeting also passed a resolution interalia maintaining that while the Front has extended its support to the Sangarsh Samiti but at the same time it was imperative to resolve amicably the land row by involving the warring factors of both regions of the state. Any decision taken unilaterally by the government is bound to conflagrate the issue further and result into serious consequences which as the wisdom demands need to be checked well in time, the resolution said adding that the solution has to be acceptable to the majority of people, if not all. The resolution further said that the Front believes in the peaceful resolution of all the issues through dialogue and impressed upon the central and state governments to ensure that the imbalances to which the people of the region have continuously been subjected to are removed and justice done to the every section of the people of the state. |
