Talks only way to peace: Bloeria

Like other parts of the country, 62nd Independence Day was celebrated with traditional fervour and enthusiasm in Jammu today. The main function was held at Mini Stadium, Parade here this morning.
Advisor to Governor, Dr. Sudhir S. Bloeria unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march past. The contingents of JKP, Armed Police, Civil Defence, J&K Women Police, Armed Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force and NCC cadets drawn from various schools took part in the march past.
Congratulating people on the auspicious occasion, Dr. Bloeria said that after independence, the Jammu and Kashmir stepped in an era of all round development and progress in all the three regions. “Today we are proud to have made multi-faceted development in every sphere”, he added.
Saying that strenuous efforts were still requisite to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and achieve new highs in the fields of science, technology, health care, education etc, conducive atmosphere and people’s involvement was imperative. He highlighted the achievements registered under various developmental schemes including Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and National Rural Health Mission. He described India as a bouquet of colourful flowers with sweet fragrance or diverse religions, castes, languages, traditions and cultures living in amity.
He said “dialogue to trounce fallacy and pave way for peace is a one of the integral parts of our ethos”. He urged the people to remain together and work for the progress and prosperity of the country.
On the occasion, colourful cultural programme based on patriotic fanaticism was presented by the artists of State Information Department, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and different educational institutions.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey, Inspector General of Police, Jammu range, Mr. K. Rajendra, District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Joint Director of Information, Jammu, Dr. Sat Pal and other senior officers of state administration, army, police, education, representatives of political parties, social organizations, prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
