Various social, religious and trade union organizations under the ageis of Gandhian Workers Society, organized “Raksha Bandhan” function with a difference. Members of different women organizations tied rakhies on the wrist of their brothers from different religions and faiths. On the wrist to guarantee mutual safety and security against communal tensions, religional inequalities, political and communal exploitation, sectarian approach, corruption and wildfully suppressing the legitimate rights of the minorities and the week. These rakhies were bonds of brotherhood and human values. Thr programmes were organized at Mohalla Ustad, Christian Colony, Gujjar Nagar, Malik Market, Bathindi, and Nanak Nagar. The participants in the programme included Gandhian Workers Society, All J&K NGOs Federation, Muslim Federation, S.S. Jain Sabha, Shree Guru Singh Sabha, J&K Namdhari Sangat, Jammu, J&K Motor Transport Employees Union, All Women’s Confernce, Ayurved Utthan Mandal, J&K State, All Transport Yard Khokha Workers Association, Mazdoor Dastkar Union, J&K, Nanak Nagar Shop Keepers Association Sadbhawana Ke Sipahi, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation, Social Awareness Front, Centre Of Indian Trade Union (CITU), Nature Human Centric Peoples Movement, Human Solidarity Forum, Sain Samaj and Youth Hostels Association of India |
