| BJP, Samiti to intensify agitation over land row | | | Early Times Reporter

The state unit of the BJP, besides the Sangarsh Samiti, were getting ready for intensifying their campaign against revocation of the land order. The Samiti and BJP leaders believe that already the centre has been rattled by the massive participation of people in Independence Day functions organized by the Samiti.
Vice president of the BJP, Prof. Hari Om today said "I hope the central Government has realized its blunder after lakhs of people participated in the independence rallies organized by the Samiti in several parts of Jammu yesterday." He said against this not more than a 1000 people were present in the functions organized by the state Government. He said the campaigners for restoration of land distributed several lakh Rakhis to the Army soldiers today.
In reply to a question he said the land has to be restored to the Board. "There is no other alternative to it because when the Samiti starts jail Bharo program from tomorrow the centre would get awakened by the response of people to the program”, he added.
Prof. Hari Om said that there was no room for dither and delay and the land row had to be settled on a priority basis if the Union Government wanted peace to be restored to Kashmir. He said the centre should also take cognizance of the trick being played by the Kashmiri separatists who have already shifted the stance of their agitation from the land row to the concocted economic blockade and now to the settlement of the Kashmir issue. |
