| Jagran group distributes 'Rakhis' to soldiers guarding borders | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 16
Continuing with its seven-year long traditional drive under the title ''Bharat Raksha Parav'', Hindi Daily Dainik Jagran distributed 'Rakhis' to the soldiers and the para-military forces guarding the borders in Jammu and Kashmir. On the eve of Raksha Bandhan, students from hundreds of schools and educational institutions from Jammu to Jamshedpur, had sent packets of 'Rakhis' and greeting cards to the Jagaran Group for handing them over to the jawans of Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Mr. Abhimanyu Sharma Editor (J&K) of Dainik Jagran along with the Manager Administration Mr. Mudit Chaturvedi handed over the packets of 'Rakhis' and 'greeting cards' to Maj. Gen D L Choudhary GOC Tiger Division, DIG BSF Jammu Frontier G S Virk, IGP CRPF Jammu R K Saxena and SSP Jammu S D Singh Jamwal. Various messages sent by the children were read out by the officers. Each 'Rakhi' carried a symbolic soul stirring message of an unknown sister to an unknown brother deployed in Jammu and Kashmir region and performing his duties daringly miles away from his family members. While handing over the packets of Rakhis to officers, Mr Abhimanyu also read out the messages forwarded by the Editor of Dainik Jagran Mr. Sanjay Gupta and Chief General Manager Mr. Nishikant Thakur. The officers expressed their gratitude and were moved by the goodwill messages. They mentioned that such gestures keep the morale of jawans and officers of belt and armed forces high, who are guarding the borders miles away from their family members. |
