Jammu | Aug 16

Observing that despite more than 40 days of mass agitation in Jammu region, the government was still concentrating all its attention on the Kashmir Valley, the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti today declared to take the ongoing agitation to the logical end as it also unveiled its Jail Bharo andolan.
Addressing a press conference here today, the Samiti leaders said that the government was still adopting a clearly discriminatory attitude. They said that the martyrs of Jammu’s agitation were being desecrated by the Police while everything was relaxed on the funeral of Hurriyat leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz in Srinagar.
The Samiti leaders also Samiti briefed about its Shiv Raksha Sutra Program held Molalla wise at several places, More than 5 lac Raksha Sutras were tied on each other wrists by the people of Jammu and redetermined the pledge for continuation of their struggle for the restoration of land at Baltal.
The Samiti brought it to the notice that while the Tricolor was hoisted with full dignity and honour at several places in the Jammu region under the umbrella of SAYSS, there was small attandents in the fuctions organised by the State Administration. On the other side in Kashmir Pakistani flag was displayed by the anti national and pro Pak slogans were raised at Kashmir by the Separatists and anit natiionalists of the Valley. The separatist organizations Dukhtran-e-millat burned the Indian flag and displayed the Pakistani flag in the presence of administration and security forces and dared to impose Nizam-e-Mustafa in the Kashmir. The DGP of J & K Police instructed his forces not to take any action against the protesting fundamentalists who openly dared to challange the soveringity of the Country. The Samiti expressed that it is shameful on the part the State and the Central Govt. that they are sparing and turning a blind eye to those who are openly insulting the Tricolor. At the same time they come to any level in crushing the fully justified agitation of the Jammu people. In doing so, they have not even spared the Dead bodies of the martyrs of Jammu agitation and have even desecrated them publicly. Another glaring example of the State's complete surrender before the anti nationals can be had from the way they lifted curfew hurriedly to allow the people to participate in the Rasm-e-chehlum of the Dead Huriat Leader and former militant Sheikh Aziz.
Samiti exposed that militants have shown their direct involvement in Kistwar violence and have even put up posters threatening to kill two local youths Sh. Govind Singh & Sh.Girdhari Lal Manhas and when this fact was brought to the notice of SSP Doda, Sh.Ragubir Singh to provide security, to these two he plainly refused. The Samiti wants to remind the State and Central administraion to wakeup and to meet its prime duty to ensure safety and security of the minorities who are residing in such militancy prone areas.
Meanwhile, the Samiti has unveiled its program of court arrests and nominated its representatives to offer themselves to the Police in protest against withdrawal of 800 kanals of forest land from the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
According to a spokesman, the the SAYSS will hold a demonstration and Court arrest in favour of its demand of restoration of land to SASB in the entire Jammu Region. 13 places have been identified in Jammu City where the Samiti leaders will be courting arrest.
