| MC President meet LG, submits memo of demands | | | Early times report
Udhampur, Sept 8: Municipal Council (MC) President Udhampur, Surinder Singh Khalsa along with 20 other MC Councillors today met LG Manoj Sinha and submitted him a memorandum of demands regarding development of the town.
The memorandum contained the demand of urban water supply for which detailed project report (DPR) of Rs. 65 crore was sent to the Jal Shakti Department.
Other demands included restructuring and remodeling of Udhampur town, implementation of 74th Amendment of the Constitution for empowering urban local bodies and multistory parking in the town. Still more demands included waste/garbage disposal plant in the town to lower land pollution, recruitment of Safai Karamcharis to reduce their shortage so that proper cleanliness of the town can be ensured, establishment of sports stadium in the town and intensive care unit (ICU) in district hospital. More demands included slaughter house in the town, auditorium and foot-over bridge at MH Chowk as it always remains high traffic area. |
