| Don’t lend ear to rumours, MJF asks people | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 17
Expressing concern over the rumors being spread by some vested interests and miscreants in order to create fear psychosis among the Muslims of Jammu region, an emergency meeting of Muslim Front Jammu (MFJ) was held here today to discuss the situation prevailing due to such reports. Taking serious note of these rumours the front members today called on the police and civil administration to apprise them about the situation and the fear psychosis developing among the Muslim community. The members who met the administration included Chief Patron Prof Zahir-ud-din, President Chowdhary Abdul Hamid, Vice President Abdul Gani Teli, General Secretary Ashiq Hussian Khan, Chowdry Bashir Ahmad, Hussian Ali, Chowdhary Noor Alam, and Farooq Chowdhary. In the meantime the MFJ has appealed the people of the region to frustrate the designs of anti-national elements who are hell bent to divide the people on religious lines and create communal disturbances in the state. Inspector General of Police Jammu Range, K Rajendra while talking to the Front members described these rumours false and baseless. He assured full security to the minority and lauded the role of the front for extending its full cooperation to the administration. He informed the members representing the minority community that measures to check such rumours have already been taken by the police. The IGP and Deputy Commissioner Jammu also appealed the people not to give heed to such rumours being spread by some anti national elements and thanked the members of the Muslim Front in bring such reports into the notice of administration. Deputy Inspector General of Police Jammu-Kathua Range Abdul Qayoom Manhas, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Mandeep K Bhandari and SSP Jammu S D Singh were also present in the meeting. |
