Team finds 80% drugs available, remaining 20% in substitute brands
People asked to contact Helpline Nos in case of need

A team constituted by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, under Deputy Controller Drug and Food Organization, Kashmir, today inspected various drugs sale establishments in Srinagar city to see the availability of medicines in the market and found 80 percent of drugs are available while the other 20 percent are available in substitute brands in the market.
The manufacturers and distributors of the drugs whose substitutes are available have been persuaded to immediately rush their supplies to Kashmir. These include M/s Intas, M/S Glenmark Pharmaceutical and M/S Wockhardt-Merind Pharma.
The team also inspected the shop of M/S World Line Medicines at Khayam Chowk who had alleged that supplies of Aciloc and Paracetamol medicines were not available. The team found sufficient quantity of Aciloc and Paracetamol medicines in his stock. Disciplinary action has been initiated against the proprietor of the medical shop for misleading the public.
The team later, inspected M/S K. S. Traders, Karan Nagar and M/S Asian Phaarma Batmaloo who informed that they have no shortage of medicines, as their consignments, are lying with transport agencies which they have not been able to lift, due to the hartal. M/S Pakiza and M/S MM Agency the super stockists of Insulin, informed the team that they have adequate stocks of Insulin available and huge quantities have been distributed to the stockists and retailers.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Controller Drug and Food Organization, Kashmir had a meeting with Srinagar Chemists and Distributors Association who assured that normal supplies shall be ensured to all retail outlets. The Association said that due to the prevailing hartals and strike, the distribution of the medicines, by wholesalers to the retailers, has been hampered.
