Srinagar, Sep 8 Over 1,75,000 households in three districts of Jammu and Kashmir have been registered under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, official sources said here today. In Kupwara, Doda and Poonch districts, Rs 3.16 crore have been spent from the sanctioned amount of Rs 21 crore in the current financial year, they said. Under the Swaran Gram Rozgar Yojana, 3,640 rural development works have been taken up, out of which 1,264 works have been completed, sources claimed. While Rs 72 lakh were spent under the Swaran Gram Sadak Yojna scheme, an amount of Rs 2.94 crore was used for various projects under the Indira Awas Yojana. As many as 5,53,194 families, sources said, have been identified under the Below Poverty Line category. Out of these, 31,946 families do not have a house and efforts were on to cover them under the Indira Awas Yojana. |
