| JK Peace Movement urges Kashmiris to foil evil designs of separatists | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 18
J&K Peace Movement executive committee today held an extraordinary meeting under the chairmanship of Krishan Kaul to discuss the unfortunate turn of events in the Valley. Expressing his grave concern over the deteriorating situation in the Valley, Kaul hoped that peaceful Kashmiri people will stand up against the nefarious designs of a handful of so called leaders who are exploiting them with hollow slogans to achieve their own political goals. Kaul reminded the people of the black deeds of all those who are responsible for the present upheaval in the Valley. It is no secret that Yasin Malik, who is spearheading one pincer of the present unrest, has still 23 FIRs pending against him in various police stations in the Valley for an assortment of charges which include heinous crimes like murder of innocent people. Is it not a tragic irony that he calls himself Gandhi of Kashmir? The other pincer of the agitation is led by Ali Shah Gilani whose speeches are replete with venom against Indian establishment and he parrots utterances at the behest of his masters from across the border to exploit the sentiments of simple and peace loving people of Kashmir. If he was sincere in his demand for trade across LOC for the benefit of the locals then he should have suggested that a delegation of traders be sent to Muzaffarabad to discuss modalities of trade rather than lead a procession of one lakh people to LOC which lead to death of scores of innocent people. He is dabbling in bloody politics at the behest of Pakistani establishment who have been funding his anti-India activities for long. Kaul appealed to the people of Kashmir to be vigilant against the evil designs of such enemies of Kashmir and to frustrate same by remaining steadfast to the time tested ethos of communal harmony and Kashmiryat. The members present at the meeting vowed to work towards restoration of peace in the Valley. |
