| Ensure safety of migrant labourers in Kashmir valley: APMCC | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 18
Expressing concern over the attacks on Bihari labourers and people of particular community in Kashmir valley, All Party Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) on Monday asked Governor N N Vohra to ensure the safety of Hindus and Sikhs in the valley. "We ask the state governor to beef up security in and around the places where migrant labourers from Hindu and Sikh communities reside," chairman of APMCC, a conglomeration of 16 displaced Kashmiri Pandits organisations, Vinod Pandit told reporters here. "Some miscreants can take benefit of the worsening situation in Kashmir valley by harassing minorities. Therefore CRPF forces should be deployed to guard them," he said. Pandit said that over 2000 Bihari labourers had fled valley as well as employees belonging to minority community after being harassed.
