| Daily wager labourers flee Kashmir valley to save lives | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 17
Large number of daily wage labourers hailing from different parts of India on Sunday arrived in Jammu after fleeing Kashmir valley failing to cope with the prevailing law and order situation. "We were targeted in Kashmir by large number of local people and we had no option but to flee Kashmir valley , Bihari labourers said in Jammu soon after their arrival at Jammu railway station. Ashok Kumar, a bihari labourer working in Kashmir as construction worker said I am staying in Kashmir for last three years but under prevailing law and order situation he had no option but to leave the valley. He said, people in Kashmir are labelling us as Indians and shouting at us and pelting stones to move out of the valley.He said people in Kashmir are burning Indian flags and hoisting Pakistani flags in the heart of the Srinagar city leaving security personnel mute spectators. Another daily wage labourers, feeling the pinch of on ground situation Sushil Kumar said, local youth started petling stones on us and forcing us to take a decision whether to stay in Kashmir or not.Large number of other daily wage labourers said,: the law and situation is worsening in Kashmir with each passing day and it is getting extremely difficult for poor daily wage labourers to sustain.Large number of daily wage labourers said they were not paid their regular salaries by their contractors and huge amount of money was blocked.We cannot afford to spend more money to survive so we decided to head back home to save our lives , the daily wage labourers said. |
