Bhandari reviews Shri Lord Krishna Janamashtmi arrangements

The Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari on Sunday convened a high level meeting of officers to review the arrangements made by the various departments for the smooth conduct of Shri Lord Krishna Janamashtmi.
SSP, Jammu, Mr. S. D. S. Jamwal, Joint Director of Information, Jammu, Dr. Sat Pal, Health Officer, JMC, Dr. K. D. Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu, Dr. Sahid Mughal, representatives of Dharmik Yuva Mandal and Sanatam Dharam Sabha and other senior officers of PHE, PDD, Police, CID, Fire and Emergency Services and R&B were present on the occasion.
In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner informed that on the eve of Janamashtmi, the Shoba Yatra of Shri Lord Krishna would be taken out on August 23, 2008. The Jankies shall start assembling at Parade opp. Geeta Bhawan Mandir at 1 pm and their security check would be done there. He said that the Jhankies would start from Parade ground for Raghunath temple at 3.15 pm. Via Shalimar, Indira Chowk, and Hari Market routes. The Shoba Yatra shall accompany the Jhankies from Shri Raghunath Ji temple at 3.30 pm and will pass through the bazaars which include Raghunath Bazaar, Residency Road, Shahidi Chowk, Rajinder Bazaar, Kanak Mandi, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Chowk Chabutra, Dhonthly Bazaar, Panjthorthi, Old Secretariat and return via Chowk Chabutra, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazzar, Raj Tilak Road, Purani Mandi, City Chowk and would be culminate at Shri Raghunath ji temple.
Regarding security arrangements, he asked the SSP, Jammu to deploy police personnel on the route of Shoba Yatra and also around the temples of Jammu city. He asked the JMC to remove the encroachments and parked vehicles well before the Shoba Yatra and also ensure the cleanliness of road, lanes and footpaths. He directed the JMC to ensure sprinkling of water before Jhankies all along the route, besides, to arrange drinking water facilities for devotees all along the route of Shoba Yatra.
For the repair of Path holes and cracks, he asked the R&B to ensure refurbish work. He asked the PDD to ensure that the worn out and sagging power lines on the routes are repaired to prevent any untoward incident. He asked the PDD authorities to ensure no power curtailment on August 23 and 24, 2008 in view of Janamshtmi. He requested the organizers of the Shoba Yatra that the height of the Jhankies should be restricted to 8 to 9 feet. He asked the Chief Medical Officer to depute a team of doctors with an ambulance with sufficient stock of medicines which shall accompany the Shoba Yatra. He directed the Fire and Emergency authorities to keep fire tenders ready at Parade Ground and Mubarak Mandi.
