| Thousands of children court arrest on 3rd day in Udhampur | | | Early Times Reporter

Taking cue from their elders, thousands of children today took part in the ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’, call given by the Sangrash Samiti, in support of its land for reallocation of land to the Amarnath Shrine Board and courted arrest in the district today
Demanding transfer of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and recall of Governor N N Vohra, thousands of children, along with the men and women in large numbers, raising slogans of "Bam Bam Bholay", and “Hum Deewana Kahan Chaile Jial Chalai Bhai Jail Chalie “came out from every lane of city and after taking out protest march courted arrest at the police station.
The students, who were shifted to the make shift jail at the Government degree college ground, were offered drinks and sweets to the children.
Speaking on the occasion District Convenor Vikram Slathia alleged that the Congress activists were sabotaging the on going movement and cautioned the people to remain vigilant against their nefarious designs.
Cautioning Kishtwar administration to restraint from using excessive force, Salathia demanded proper security to the minority community in the district who has been made the target being the nationalists. Condemning the role of the local police during the recent riots, Salathia demanded immediate dismissal of the SSP and transfer of the Deputy Commissioner. |
