AJHLA condemns attempts to sabotage mass movement
‘Demands security to Jammu based employees posted in Valley’

Various trade organizations of Jammu connected with tourism and pilgrimage, who are supporting the present mass movement spearheaded by SAYSS, have expressed their serious concern and anguish over attempts by certain elements to sabotage the peaceful agitation by inciting and engineering violent incidents with a view to defame the movement.
At a joint meeting of the trade organizations held under the chairmanship of Inderjeet Khajuria president All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association have strongly condemned setting ablaze the vehicle and the residential quarter of the state BJP General secretary Ajay Jamwal by some hirelings and agents and also the clash between the supporters of former Congress MLA from Akhnoor and the supporters of the present agitation.
Referring to the police lathi charge, tear gassing and firing in air outside Abinav Theatre here on August 19, the meeting said that holding of cultural functions at this juncture when Jammu is burning, is like adding insult to the injury and pouring salt into the wounds of the aggrieved people of Jammu.
Condemning the insensitiveness of the Governor and his advisor S S Bloria for hosting ‘AT HOMES’ at Srinagar and Jammu at a time when the people were mourning the loss of many valuable lives in police firing on the peaceful agitators and also assailed those political leaders, bureaucrats and members from the civil society who participated in these AT HOMES and also the cultural functions organized by the government.
Expressing their serious concern about forced exodus of non-Kashmiri labourers and some Jammu based government employees posted in the valley, in the face of threats and harassment by the anti-nationals hooligans in Kashmir, the meeting demand foolproof security to Jammu based employees posted in the valley.
The meeting, however, refuted the boggy of non-existent blockade of Kashmir and called it an act of blackmailing by the secessionists in the valley.
The meeting, among others, was attended to by H S Anand President Hotel Bar and Restaurant Association, Mahesh Padha President Jammu Tourist Trade Employees Federation, Ashwani Sharma President Shopkeepers Association Bus Stand, Vikramjeet Singh Hotelier Association below Gumat, Pawan Gupta President Hari Market Traders Welfare Association, Baldev Khullar President Raghunath Bazaar Traders Association, Baldev Raj treasurer All Jammu Hotel and Lodges Association and Rakesh Abrol Chairman Shopkeepers Association Bus Stand.
