| JSM criticizes Farooq for misleading people | | ‘Demands putting secessionists behind bars’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 21
Taking strong exception to the statement of various leaders on the present turmoil in Jammu region in region in particular and the Jammu and Kashmir state as a whole Prof. Virender Gupta and Dig Vijay Singh, the President and Secretary General respectively of Jammu State Morcha (P) have strongly criticized Dr. Farooq Abdullah for trying to mislead the general public and the country by stating that Autonomy for J&K is the only solution for this present turmoil. It seems that for all the Kashmir centric leaders, Kashmiri Muslims are the only people who reside in the state and should always be given the mandate to rule over the rest of the people of the state. Giving Autonomy to the state as envisaged by all these leaders is only a ploy to ensure their continued rule and subjugation of Jammu and Ladkah regions under them as their personal colonies, the Morcha leaders added. The present mass upsurge in Jammu region is because of the pent up anger against the continued suppression of their rights and aspirations by the Kashmiri leaders during all these 61 years. The desire of the people of this region is now to become the masters of their own destiny which these Kashmiri leaders are again trying to prevent by giving the Autonomy slogan. These leaders along with the Central Government should face the reality on ground today which is that the people of Jammu & Ladakh regions want to be free from these Kashmiri leaders by having their own state of Jammu and Ladakh, the Morcha leaders observed. Dr. Farooq Abdullah is trying again to play the divisive game by talking about the division of the Jammu Region on communal lines by segregating the districts of Rajouri & Poonch and erstwhile Doda into separate Hill Councils as they have done with Leh and Kargil districts, the Morcha alleged. This is in tune with the larger game plan of what these Kashmiri leaders have been trying to do since all these years starting from the agitations led by them in 1924-Scrap Amritsar Treaty, in 1946, Quit Kashmir Movement, in 1990 driving out the Kashmiri Pundits from the Valley and the latest of issuing dictates to all non Muslims to leave the Kashmir Valley. JSM (P) stands for the trifurcation of the present Jammu and Kashmir state along with the creation of a separate homeland for the Kashmiri Pundits in the Kashmir Valley. JSM (P) advised Dr. Farooq to first form the Hill Councils for the Pahari speaking belt of Uri and Tithwal and for the Gujjars living in the mountainous areas of Kashmir Valley who have also suffered the same fate as the people of Jammu and Ladkah regions. Condemning the attitude of the Indian National Congress towards the present agitation in Jammu region, the JSM said that it was distressing that this national political party has no distinction between the secessionist, fundamentalist and communal agitation in the Kashmir Valley and the agitation of Jammu region launched to defend the National Sovereignty, Integrity and the Secular Ethos of the Indian Nation as their spokesperson, Manish Tiwari has dubbed both these agitations as two side of the same coin. JSM (P) also strongly condemned the JKPCC for distancing itself from the statements of its Senior Vice President Dhram Pal Sharma demanding the arrest of Syed Ali Shah Geelani for “sedition” and asked the leaders of the Congress party to stand behind him and apologies to the people of Jammu for this lapse. In order to restore peace in this state JSM (P) wants the state and the central government to put behind the bars the secessionist, fundamentalist and anti-national leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Shabir Shah, Yasin Malik, Mehabooba Mufti and prosecute them under the prevalent laws of the country for such crimes. JSM (P) also wants the state and the central Government to immediately withdraw all types of police protection and security along with the bullet proof vehicles being provided to these secessionists, fundamentalist and anti National leaders from the |
