Muslims Front Jammu (MFJ) has expressed concern over the uprising situation in the region and migration of about 80 Gujjar families from border areas of Jammu and Samba districts to Bhandi and Narwal. In a meeting held at Langer Kunjwani today, Executive members of the Front, under the chairmanship of chief Patron Prof Zahir-ud-din, expressed concern over the migration of Gujjar families from various areas and appealed the government to ensure security to the minority community. The Front suggested their community members to stay at their places and not to leave their ancestral villages. "We want that they should live with the neighbours of majority community to further strengthen the age old bonds", the meeting said. "Some miscreants who are hell bent to create communal tension in the region should be exposed”. The members alleged that the government was not bothered about the incidents taking place on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and Poonch-Rajouri where these miscreants damaged dozens of vehicles and thrashed Muslim drivers and passengers. The meeting which was attended by the representatives of all Muslim belts and executive members of the Front, including Hamid Chowdhary president, Ashiq Hussian Khan General Secretary, Gani Malik vice president, Noor Alam secretary and Mohd Aslam, Lal Hussian, Ghulam Rasool and Ch Asgar Ali, appealed all the communities to maintain communal harmony and remain vigilant and not to pay heed to the rumours. |
