A Jammu University Scholar Poonam Sharma represented the country at the 11th International Conference on Applied Physiology and 3rd Congress on International Society of Applied Physiology held at Martin Ryan Seaweed Research Institute in National University of Ireland, Galway Ireland. The paper, "Eco-morphological studies on the Algal flora occurring in Shivalik Himalayas of Jammu (J&K), India was presented by the scholar before a high profile assembly of academicians and scholars from all over the world. She dwelt on the distinct Shivalik features with special reference to the Algal flora found in the region. Working under the guidance of Prof. V.K. Anand, Dean Life Sciences, University of Jammu, Poonam was the only student from India who participated and presented the paper in the prestigious conference. She had also an interactive session with the participating academicians and scholars. Poonam is a Ph. D Scholar in the Department of Botany, University of Jammu. |
