Criticizing those who go for ‘murder’ of female fetus, JKNPP general secretary Anita Thakur has said that it was ‘shame’ for a civilized society, which has thousands years old religious, culture and belief in equality of rights as enshrined in the Constitution of India for all irrespective of sex, caste, creed or religion. She was addressing a meeting of Mahila workers of the party here today. Appealing to the society as a whole to say no to’ aborting’, she said no human society can grow and progress without women folk. She is ‘nucleuses of the civilized society which needs full protection, decent environment and peaceful atmosphere for over all growth, she added. Thakur said that the political leaders including women activists of traditional ruling parties at the centre and the state do not exert to get the Women Reservation Bill passed in the Parliament and the state legislatures. ‘All pay lip service to the cause of the women’, she said and alleged that the government and the political parties have failed to stop harassment of women, particularly working girls, in both private and the government organizations. |
