Udhampur | Aug 22

To restrict the movement of Sangarsh Samiti members, particularly the youths, who are participating in protests daily, the district administration on Friday, imposed a ban on pillion riding. The district magistrate under Section 144 of the CrPC has imposed ban on pillion riding.
Meanwhile, the Sangrash Samiti and local residents termed the decision of administration as ‘Talibana’ and termed it as a draconian measure to harass the common man and sabotage the ongoing peaceful movement.
Samiti leader Vikram Salathia alleged that the District administration is unnecessary creating problems for common people and acting as per the direction of higher district police officers and is playing puppet in the hands of police officers .He added that as per order no two individuals are allowed to sit on a two seater scooter or motor cycle .
He added that administration is violating Motor Vehicles Act and acting in autocratic way as law also allows two persons to sit on a scooter.
Meanwhile, the locals also alleged that the administration was further adding their woes.
