Jammu | Aug 23

Holding Congress party responsible for secessionism in Kashmir and other follies, the former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has asserted that ‘Congress or no Congress, Jammu and Kashmir would be defended as an integral part of India, come what may’.
Commenting upon the hype being created by the certain pseudo secularists and the protagonists of Azadi, autonomy and that of self rule in and outside the state, Prof Gupta said ‘that their goal is round the corner’. He said that no doubt there is weak Congress led dispensation at the centre but it does not mean that India would yield to such like slogans.
Saying that Congress alone is not the entire country, he asserted that India has shed blood of thousands of jawans and others on this soil and defending of Kashmir for India is linked with the survival of the country.
Observing that the present problems are a temporary phase which do come in the life of nations but no country can always yield to such like pressure tactics, Prof Gupta added and recalled that such problems come but self respecting nations face these difficulties and those dreaming Azadi or secession, they should bear in mind that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and would remain so, Congress or without Congress.
Alleging that Congress has been yielding to pressure tactics right from 1949 and nourished fundamentalism and terrorism, the BJP leader observed that in the history of nations such like problems are surmounted as the Congress is not a permanent phenomenon.
Stressing for steadfast approach to tackle the problems in Kashmir, the former union minister said ‘New Delhi should make it clear to all that India means business and this state would be defended at all costs. The government which fails to do so, the country would not tolerate such a leadership’, Prof Gupta warned.
