| Governor greets people on Janamashtami | | | Early Times Reporter

Governor, N N Vohra, has extended greetings to people on the auspicious occasion of Janamashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna.
In a message, the Governor said that Shri Krishna established an atmosphere of peace, love and truth on the earth and it is because of this universal truth that His preaching’s are relevant even today, in this materialistic era. He observed that the divine message of Lord Krishna, enshrined in the Srimad Bhagvad Gita, exhorts mankind to have faith in and reverence for God, to strive for the ultimate truth and to do our duties to the best of our ability without worrying about the fruits thereof. These teachings provide a solid foundation for building an ideal social order, he maintained.
Vohra wished prosperity, contentment, enlightenment and happiness to the people on the occasion of Janmashtami and expressed the hope that the festival would be celebrated with traditional gaiety and in true spirit of the composite culture of the state. |
