Saurabh reviews development progress of Samba

District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mr. Saurabh Bhagat reviewed the supply of essential commodities in district Samba in a meeting with the officers of CA&PD Department.
Assistant Director, CA&PD, Samba, Mr. Dev Raj disclosed that ration i.e. rice, atta, sugar and kerosene oil stands supplied to all the rationees of the areas at their doorsteps thorough Government depots as well as fair price shop located at various places during prevailing law and order situation. The department is presently providing ration through a network of 17 numbers of government depots and 111 private fair shops located at far flung areas in district Samba. The total number of 43411 APL, 10186 BPL, 4733 AAY families and 705 APS souls are being covered for supply of ration under public distribution system.
Against the total requirement of 8567 quintals of Atta, 4758 quintals of rice, 2138 quintals of sugar, the department have received 5851 quintals of atta, 3225 qtls of rice and 526 qtls of sugar in district Samba during the current month.
Necessary instructions have also been issued to the field functionaries to ensure that fair distribution of ration among the poor and needy people of the far flung areas. Assistant Director, CA&PD alongwith Tehsil Supply Officer Vijaypur and Samba has been directed to pay a frequent visit in their respective areas to ensure that consumers may not be exploited by the unscrupulous traders.
He, however, expressed his satisfaction over the supply of essential commodities and asked all the officers of CA&PD department to very punctual and careful about the supply of proper distribution of ration among the rationees of the areas so that the general public do not suffer.
In order to review the supply of ration among the minority community, District Administration Samba along with Assistant Director, CA&PD visited various villages included Purmandal, Utter Behni, Gurah, Devak, Rakh Barotian etc and interacted with the members of more than 450 families who reported that there was no dearth of ration supplies under PD System and they are getting regular supplies of rice, atta, sugar, and kerosene as per their prescribed scale.
Responding to the demands of Minority Community at village Devak, the DDC issued instructions to provide one tent for local school. He asked the Red Cross authorities to arrange two tents with plastic ground sheets to two houseless affected families immediately. He informed that the administration has also sanctioned Rs. 10,000 each as compensation for 17 hit families, out of which Rs. 4000 has already been disbursed among them. He informed the district administration has provided two months free ration to affected families of minority community. Besides, the DDC directed the Block Development Officers to take up the execution of demand based development works in their blocks under NREGA.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mr Abdul Hafiz, Chief Planning Officer Mr Hari Dutt, Deputy Director Evaluation Mr Madan Lal and SSP Parbhat Singh also accompanied the DDC.
