While stressing the need of unity to be maintained for achieving the goal, writers of Jammu today appealed all writers to stand by the people of Jammu in this crucial juncture of fight against communalism and anti-nationalism. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, a prominent Urdu writer S S Anand Lehar requested to all the Urdu writers of the country to raise voice against the communalism by supporting the people of Jammu which have been fighting for the secular traditions of the sub continent. Noted Punjabi writer, Dr. Susheel Sharma also appealed to all the Punjabi writers to come forward and use their experience that would help Jammuites in their fight against communalism. "People of Jammu are one in their demand of restoration of land to SASB", said by the Dogri writer Mohan Singh on the occasion and stressed that discrimination against Jammu could not be tolerated any more. He also plea to all writers, intellectuals and artists of the state as well as of the country to come forward on one platform to raise the voice against the fundamental forces who were stand by all the human equality and their rights. Another Dogri writer Nirmal Vikram said that Jammu has been ignored in every aspect of life and it is now duty of the writers to pen down the instances, which could give the right message against the communal and anti national forces of the state. Dr. Agni Shekhar, a Hindi writer also appealed all the writers of the country to stand by the people of Jammu. The writers of the Jammu while appreciating the step of granting land to Islamic university at Srinagar at a nominal price of Re 1 per canal annually but asked about the opposition of the transferr of land to SASB for the period of two months at the cost of rupees 2.85 crores besides calling the present agitation in Jammu as communal. They further said that writers were fully supporting Shri Amarnath yatra Sangarsh Samati in the fight of restoration of land to SASB. |
