| ATR SUBMITTED IN RS 300 CRORE JAKFED SCAM | | | Jammu,September 08 : In the much publicized Rs 300 croroe JAKFED scam, Registrar cooperatives J&K submitted Action Taken report with regard to the implementation of the recommendation of Pillai fact finding inquiry which had dectected Rs 300 crore bunglings in JAKFED. Advocate Sajid Malik appeared on behalf of Registrar cooperatives and prayed for exempting the Registratr cooperatives from personnal appearance due to his involvement in flood control measures. Advocate Malik assured the State Accountability Commission (SAC) that he will produce the Registrar cooperatives on the next date of hearing. Upon this statement of the counsel the SAC directed Advocate Malik to produce Registrar cooperatives n the next date of hearing i.e October 5, 2006 to explain as to whether the accounts stand reconciled pursuant to the follow up action of Pillai Fact Finding inquiry. Today, the SAC also formulated two legal questions in the complaint pertainingto JAKFED filed by social activist GM Bhat from Srinagar. The SAC further reserved its order in the application field by GL Abrol, GM JAKFED seeking vacation of stay order issued by the SAC on Jan 18 2006 wherby the SAC directed the management of JAKFED to ensure that GL Abrol doesnot have access to the official records of JAKFED. Senior advocate UK Jalali along with Advocate SK Shukla appeared on behalf of GL Abrol whereas Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed appeared on behalf of complainant Prof SK Gupta. |
