JMC organises activities under “My Town My Pride” prog

Jammu, Oct 19: Under the initiative “My Town My Pride”, an initiative to promote public outreach in town, service delivery at door step and strengthening grass root democracy launched by L.G. Manoj Singha, some activities were organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation. In which delegation of Government officials comprising Atul Dulloo, Principal Secretary to Govt. Health Department, Pardeep Kumar (KAS), Transport Commissioner and Rahul Sharma, Excise commissioner were the visiting officers. In the meeting Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC, Purina Sharma , Deputy Mayor, JMC, Jeet Angral Chairman Social Justice Standing Committee, JMC, Baldev Singh Billawaria Chairman, Public Health and Sanitation, Suraj Parkash Padha, Chairman, Swaach Bharat Abhiyaan, along with Avny Lavasa (IAS), Commissioner JMC, Tina Mahajan (KAS), Secretary, JMC Ashish Kumar (KAS) Joint Commissioner (A) and other officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation were present. Delegated officials from deferent departments were also present in the meeting. Jeet Kumar Angral, Chairman, Social Justice Standing Committee, JMC while addressing the gathering expressed his concern over many issues being faced by the committee and general public. He pressed on the issue that many resolutions were passed in General house meeting regarding social and economic improvement of the weaker sections of the society but none was implemented because of absence of Basic Service Fund Head in Jammu Municipal Corporation which is a mandatory provision in Jammu Municipal Act-2000. He said that he had intimated the govt. officials about the issue but till date nothing has been done. He requested the delegated officials to forward the concern to Govt. and Basic Service Head Fund Head be implemented as soon as possible, which will help tremendously in uplifting the weaker section of Jammu City.
