Deepika deserves exemplary punishment for hurting sentiments of Hindus: Raman Suri
10/22/2020 11:02:51 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct, 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri, while condemning the post of Advocate Deepika Thussu alias Deepika S Rajawat on Twitter, said that the cartoon is derogatory, against religion and has hurt the sentiments of Hindu community. He said that liberty doesn't mean that people like Deepika can post anything without applying mind and play with religious sentiments of a particular community.
Seeking an action against Deepika, Raman Suri said that she should be asked to vacate the government accomodation, the police should take cognisance of the matter, listen to voice of the masses and book her under relevant sections. Holy Navratras are going on and all meat shops in Jammu are closed as a matter of respect and belief. Katra town is embracing devotees with open arms, people are thronging temples in the region with devotion and reverence to pay obeisance and, on such occasion, derogatory and uncomplimentary post by Deepika has hurt the sentiments of people and enraged them.
He said that already the Jammu Bar Council has ousted her from the body and now, such statement calls for a strict and legal action against her. This is very unfortunate that even after so many protests and complaints, Deepika is roaming free and enjoying immunity. He said, the police must arrest her and question her intention behind such post that has deeply hurt the sentiments of people.
In Kathua rape and murder case also, she had played a dirty role and then left the case midway to hip on fabricated fame and to receive awards from different organisations. She's always seen trying to play to gallery for her vested interests and in these circumstances, she must be booked and taken to task.
People all over India are protecting and expressing their anger on social media and many have lodged complaints as well. This must be taken very seriously before the situation turns ugly, he said, adding that an action is solicited as early as possible so that people could see justice being delivered.
