The Udhampur and its adjoining areas , observed a complete shutdown amidst few incident of violence in which protesters attack at a local floor mill at Battal road and broken doors and window panes there . Protesters also smashed window panes of some private vehicles on Dhar road . Meanwhile Udhampur Bar also suspended its work in support of ongoing strike and work remain paralyzed in all courts here . Normal life was thrown out of gear as all the business establishments were closed and traffic remain off from the roads in the district . The Samiti, a conglomeration of thirty five political, social and religious outfits, is demanding removal of Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and restoration of land to the Amarnath Shrine Board. The protesters late in the evening took out a protest rally which passed through several bazaars raising Bam Bole slogans were demanding transfer of IGP Jammu who failed to protect minorities of Kishtwar and Poonch and also responsible for atrocities upon peaceful people in Jammu yesterday . Speaking on the occasion District convenor Vikram Salathia reiterating demand of Samiti state president Leela karan has demanded removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu range, K Rajendera, SSP Jammu, Manohar Singh and SSP Kathua, Swayam Prakash Pani who are responsible for use of force on peaceful demonstrators in Jammu region yesterday .. He accused IG Jammu range for his failure to provide security to minority Hindus in Kishtwar and Poonch districts during the communal violence and rioting. He alleged that police had created a reign of terror in Jammu province . "The use of force on innocent people is totally condemnable and threatened to intensify its agiation if centre fail to intervene in the grim situation. |
