Mehbooba Unnerved
10/22/2020 11:47:31 PM
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has raised hue and cry over National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the multi-crore Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association scam.
Mehbooba is claiming that the Centre has been unnerved due to Kashmir centric parties joining hands and that’s why Farooq Abdullah is being grilled by the ED.
It seems that Mehbooba needs to be told that J&K is no more a State and it has been turned into union territory.
The wrongs which were committed by the politicians in the past are being probed and the multi-crore scam in JKCA was one of the most infamous scandals.
In 2012 when Mehbooba Mufti was in the opposition she had created uproar in the J&K Legislative Assembly while demanding a CBI probe into the JKCA scam.
Two years later when her party came into power, she ensured that Farooq Abdullah is ousted from the JKCA and succeeded in her endeavour.
Till August 5, 2019—when the Centre announced its decision to scrap the Article 370— PDP and National Conference were the biggest enemies. Both these parties left no stone unturned to castigate and find flaws with each other. After becoming irrelevant PDP, NC and other Kashmir centric parties have come together to search for the “lost power.”
All these parties are finding it very hard to digest the fact that they have been sidelined and don’t stand anywhere.
Leaders like Mehbooba Mufti are standing at crossroads today as the incumbent administration seems keen on cleaning the system. The government of the day is holding the politicians, who indulged in wrong doings accountable. This has perturbed most of the Kashmir centric politicians as all of them do carry one or other sort of baggage.
The so-called People’s Alliance formed by the Kashmir centric parties is nothing but an attempt to hoodwink people but theses leaders won’t be able to show anymore dreams to people as they don’t take these leaders seriously anymore. These politicians have lost their credibility as they have been left with nothing to sell.
It seems that someone needs to tell Mehbooba that during her tenure as J&K chief minister, many scams came to fore which had put question mark on the functioning of her government. She too could be questioned for these in future?
